Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Banquet Captain to join our team. The Banquet Captain is responsible for leading the service team during banquet events, ensuring exceptional guest service and smooth event execution. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding hospitality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all aspects of banquet setup, execution, and breakdown.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between banquet staff and event organizers or clients.

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely food service and quality.

  • Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to servers and support staff during events.

  • Ensure proper table settings, food presentation, and cleanliness throughout the event.

  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, or concerns in a professional and efficient manner.

  • Conduct pre-event briefings with staff to review event details, timelines, and responsibilities.

  • Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and assist with post-event clean-up and reporting.

  • Assist with training and onboarding of new banquet staff as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality degree or coursework preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in banquet or event service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
